22nd Joke - A Jester's Clothes

[Phone to the town | Filtered away from Ruri]

Hello, it's Aaron again. Don't mean to bother but I have a question.

What do guys wear when girls wear kimonos?

... I really don't have a clue.

[identity profile] promisebreaking.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Guys wear Kimonos too. Or regular clothes.

It doesn't matter.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
So... it won't be bad to wear a tux or a suit like I was planning?

[identity profile] promisebreaking.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
You're not Japanese, are you?

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
No. I'm American... uh... east coast.

[identity profile] promisebreaking.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Then there you go.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Okay...

[[Not really getting it but so far he has little advice to go on.]]

[identity profile] promisebreaking.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
No one's going to care, idiot. It's not your culture and half of us guys don't like dressing up in that crap anyway.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

Just... okay. That works.

[identity profile] promisebreaking.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
That all, then?

[identity profile] iinchoucat.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Men can wear kimonos too.

[identity profile] perfektsymmetry.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, well, there are men's kinomos, but that'll be hard to find in Mayfield. If it's for the prom, I'm sure it'll be fine if you just wear a suit.

she is the queen of stupid questions

[identity profile] biophases.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Does what the girl wears make a big difference to what the boy wears?

[identity profile] winning-road.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
It depends on the situation and how traditional it is. If it's something like a date, we'd just wear something nice, like a button-up shirt and slacks.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah... I guess so. Thanks.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
I've never wore one before, I don't think I'd even know what to do in one.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
That won't look funny if she wears a kimono?

[[Hey Crowe... Aaron learned something about you. Possibly.

He's just going to avoid it though for now.]]

He is S-M-R-T too.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I don't know.

I know, like, we are supposed to match a little or something if she was wearing a dress but I know nothing about kimonos or what's expected.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
It's for the prom... I was going to wear a suit or tux, I just didn't know if I wasn't supposed to?

[identity profile] hop-toit-udonge.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
If you're not Japanese, you should probably stick with male western formal wear.

[identity profile] perfektsymmetry.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[AWKWARD TIMES ARE GO. Crowe has no idea!]

I don't think so. But, you could always ask around, maybe someone has one. There's a lot of Japanese people here. It's not enough time to get one made, and I doubt Mayfield would have the proper fabric anyway.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's why I put the call out. I was hoping to figure this out before prom.

[[He thinks Crowe doesn't want him to know anyways so he is going to just not say it.]]

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, good. I really didn't want to try wearing something new this close to prom.

So it won't look weird right?

[identity profile] perfektsymmetry.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I honestly don't think a suit would be bad. Maybe you could get a tie or shirt to match with the kimono?

[identity profile] winning-road.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
No, that sounds perfectly fine; if anything, dressing in formal Japanese clothing would look a little strange. The only guys who really wear clothes like that are usually old or from extremely traditional families.

[identity profile] pants-yourmove.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that'd be a good idea.

Now I need to see her kimono.
