[[Aaron is in a good mood and has finished one of his projects.

It's a go kart! The metal frame looks a bit stockier than you'd except with most go karts but the engine built by Dist can handle it. It even has a passenger seat.

Anyone who would think to can notice there is a secondary exhaust which seems to not be used at the moment. It's probably nothing though, right?

Aaron decides to take his new toy out on the town!]]

A) [Action | Anywhere there is a road]

[[Aaron is zipping down the roads, not caring which street he ends up on. If he recognizes you, or if you wave, he might even pull over.

He can be found anywhere in town.]]

B) [Action | 1451 Mitchell Road]

[[He's going to pull into the driveway at Mitchell.

Turning it off and knocking on the door. Hoping

inababanchou has been doing a lot for Aaron, so guess who is going to get a chance to test drive the go kart as well?

Well, he's swinging by to check on you as well. Also, he wants to show off his toy. He's proud he put it together.]]

[Unfortunately, despite his lack of safety restraints, he stays rooted in his seat throughout Aaron's loss of control and even manages to find it fun. His grin only gets bigger.]

[[Trying to pay attention to driving and not the creepy kid beside him.

It's safe right? He's Ai's friend or boyfriend or whatever right?]]

Ever been in a go kart?

[[Bounces up someone's driveway and down the side walk a little before swerving back into the street just for the fun of it.]]

[He seems to enjoy being bumped around and turns his shadowy gaze from Aaron to the road ahead.]

[[Aaron's enjoying it too, though still a bit uneasy with this kid.

He barely knows him, but he wants to.]]

You want to try driving one?

[For a puzzling moment, Slugger can't tell if Aaron is serious.]

...This one? You'd let me?

Sure, it's pretty easy actually. Two pedals, one direction.

So, you up for trying?

[He eyes Aaron, then the steering wheel. He's never driven anything before, not a go kart, not even a bumper car.

...

He nods.]

Sure.

[[Leaves it idling and get's out. Waiting for slugger to switch seats so he can get in the passenger seat.]]

It's pretty simple, right pedal is gas, left is break.

It doesn't reverse you have to turn around when you dead end.

[With perhaps more ease than is natural, Slugger shifts from passenger seat to driver seat where he sits looking at whatever gears are available and then down at the foot pedals below.

Better hope you're in the passenger's seat before he starts testing the gas pedal, Aaron, because that's the next thing he's going to do once he finds it underfoot.]

[[Luckily, only one gear. Aaron is barely in before the kart gets going!

He pulls his one leg in as they go]]

Holy crap, got to be careful...

[After that initial lurch forward, Slugger gives it the gas again. He isn't good at keeping the wheel steady so the kart is drifting from lane to lane, miraculously avoiding any cars both parked and moving. The swerving is partially intentional because what fun is moving in a straight line, anyway?

Enjoying the ride, Aaron?]

[[Oddly, once he finally get's settled in his seat he is!

He's laughing as they dodge the cars. So long as he doesn't get into an accident.]]

[The cul-de-sac ahead poses a challenge but not one Slugger is unwilling to face. He starts to turn but realizes too late that he must take his foot off the gas to do this properly. The kart doesn't tip, but it certainly loses contact with the road as it blows through several front yards on an overly wide turn and sends a few trash bins flying.

The kart skids and fish-tails over a lawn but eventually Slugger gets it back onto the street again where it comes to an abrupt halt that nearly sends him tumbling over the wheel. Oh, so that's what the brake pedal does. He turns to Aaron in the passenger seat.]

...Nice.

[Grin.]

[[Grabs the frame to keep from being tossed out. Oh yeah, seat belts.

Ducking his head now from the trash and hopefully avoiding getting hit.]]

Holy crap...

Getting the hang of it?

[[What was that? It wasn't until they were bumping things that Aaron remembered crashing might hurt... a lot.]]

[Slugger isn't worried about crashing; he has ways of avoiding most certain fatalities. However, he does take into account that you're a friend of Ai's and it therefore might be a bad idea to get you accidentally mutilated and/or killed. So if they crash, he'll just have to make sure it happens on the driver's side of the kart.

Slugger taps his chin, feigning contemplation, then answers.]

Not yet.

[Once again, he positions his skate on the gas pedal (yes, he's been driving with skates on; they help him reach the pedals), and the kart lurches forward again.]

[[Quickly ties on his belt, he's going to have to check this kart when Slugger is done.

Trying hard to pretend like this isn't as fun as it is though.]]

[Rather than drive aimlessly around, Slugger seems to have a destination in mind as he steers the kart through public and private property alike until, finally, the tires land on a smooth road again. He's found what he was looking for...

Stretching out ahead of them through endless fields is Mayfield's one highway. He guns it, nearly skidding off the road before his hands figure out how to steady the wheel.]

[[At least Slugger doesn't know the Kart's secret. Probably best for everyone's safety.

Aaron holds on and will offer tips on keeping it straight.]]

Don't watch the lines, watch ahead of you and just focus between the lines.

[While he isn't too concerned with abiding by rules and staying in his own lane, he does heed Aaron's advice surprisingly, if only to try it. And for a few minutes, at least, the kart stays in one lane traveling in an almost straight path. It's kind of nice---they're the only ones on the road, the day is nice, bright and warm. Peaceful.

Until Slugger relapses into his former reckless pattern and swerves deliberately into a cornfield. The kart thankfully returns back to the street after a brief foray and upon discovering what it's like to be smacked with corn stalks. There were no casualties except for one scarecrow.

By the way, Aaron, when's the last time you checked the fuel tank?]

[[Aaron covers his face while they tear through the corn. After they come through he's checking to make sure corn didn't get jammed someplace dangerous.

Sadly, he didn't stop to think about gas. If they keep up they might get stranded on the highway.]]

[As Aaron squirms in his seat, presumably checking the exhaust pipe for corncobs, Slugger grins and keeps driving. The old gas station is long behind them and as more time passes, the engine might sound a little weird.

Moving his foot away from the pedal, Slugger listens and then turns to Aaron.]

[[Blinks... blinks...]]

Uh oh...

[[That engine will probably sputter then stall out after a short bit longer.]]

[Unsure of what else to do, Slugger lets the kart roll to a stop on the side of the road.]

What happened?

[Did he break it?]

Out of gas. We'll need to walk to the gas station or push it home...

[[Trying to judge which would be easier. The highway is weird so it's annoying to judge distances.]]

Probably the gas station would be better. Just need a couple gallons to get us back to town.

[[Get's out and looks to Slugger.]]

Want to wait with the kart or come help me get gas?

[Slugger is slumped in the seat with his chin resting atop the steering wheel, looking uninterested in both scenarios. After a moment spent poking around on the dashboard, he turns off the kart and jiggles the key out of the ignition. If there's anything he knows about cars, it's that they need a key to run.]

Here...

[Tossing the key to Aaron, he then climbs out and rests a hand on the kart's frame. From there he stares at Aaron...]
