5th Joke - Idle Time [Action]

[[Aaron has been good lately. He's gone to work, wandered around to play with people and gone to school regularly.

Though he thought he'd love the routine, there was still a bit of excitement he started to get into before coming to Mayfield. A certain rush.

Those on Williams Road might notice him during the early day clearing off snow from his roof. Just up there with a shovel tossing it all into the side yard. He's already shoveled the driveway, again, and the sidewalk.

Later in the afternoon, Aaron is going to try something a bit dangerous. Those on Williams road might notice him take a running leap from his roof in an attempt to reach the next roof.]]


[[Aaron doesn't even come close. Unable to get a full sprint across a slippery roof doesn't help either. Landing hard in the snow in the side yard of 1572 Williams Road. At least he cleared the fence. He's going to lay there a bit as the cold sinks in and he waits for pain to tell him if he really hurt himself. Probably a bit afraid to move and test that out.]]

[Well your neighbor directly across the street had noticed whatever the hell you were just trying to do. He can give you tips on how to do that properly later. For now, he's going to rush outside to check on you.]

"I think so."

[[He slowly moves his arms then his legs. Not broken! Bruised, but not broken.

Slowly sitting up, he smiles.]]

"Nice to see you again Crowe."

[He gives you a worried look, but he's slightly relieved. You're conscious, nothing seems broken..]

Likewise, but I don't like when it's after I see you injure yourself. Can you get up? Did you hit your head?

"I thought I could make it, I think I slipped."

[[Slowly pushes up. Gingerly. Yep, bruised. Mostly his hip and his back hurt when he tried standing.]]

"Not my head. It's just going to hurt to sit. Sorry to give you a scare."

You should still get looked at. I know someone who can help you if you don't like the idea of a drone doctor.

"Are the drone doctors bad at what they do?

Oh, well. I don't know. I thought while there was plenty of snow on the ground I'd see if I could do it."

Most people are just uncomfortable going to the hospital here. I've been lucky enough to know doctors in town so I never needed to go.

The roofs now are so slick... you're very lucky there was all this snow. Have you... have you ever tried it before? When it's dry?

"Miss Ciel is pretty nice, I think I'd prefer that."

"Well, maybe. I don't know if I've ever measured how far I've jumped. Some houses are closer than this though."

"Yeah, I'll be good. That was kind of silly.

Maybe I'll go with my other plan and just sneak into the car shop when no one is around and play around. It's bound to be safer."

"I used to work on cars back home. It'd keep me busy at least.

I mean my new job isn't terrible, it's just a little boring."

That sounds pretty good, really. I didn't have a job yet, I was just in school. [Not like he *needed* a job with the money in his family...] Here, I'm a paper boy though. What do they have you doing?

"I work at the bowling alley. Mainly they expect me to pick up pins, but I try to do some extra jobs when they aren't paying attention. It keeps me from going too crazy in there.

Being a car mechanic wasn't glorious back home, but it was interesting at least."

I guess it would get a bit monotonous. I should stop by the bowling alley sometime, I haven't yet.

Hmm. Know anything about motorcycles?

"A little. I mean I've only been working on stuff like that, officially, for about 2 years. I've still worked on a few."

Nice. I know a little about them myself. My dad has a few. I really wish I could get my hands on one here.

"Oh, building one from scratch would be tough.

I've never done it before and not sure if we have the parts here. But if you get your hands on one and need it fixed or fixed up, let me know."

Ah yeah, that's WAY beyond me, I'm afraid. I've been keeping my eye out for one, but no luck so far. I know two people in town who have them, though. I have to say I'm pretty jealous.

Not sure. I think Dist managed to buy one here, but Ken got his sent back from home.

I think Dist had a hard time finding it. Honestly, I've been looking for awhile, no luck so far. [He shrugs.] But if you find any, let me know. I guess for now I'll have to resign myself to bugging Ken for a ride every once in awhile.

[At this point, they're approaching the church.] Here we are. You seem to be doing well, though.

"Yeah, it hurts but everything moves. Maybe I'll be fine with a bit of rest but getting checked will be good.

As for the bike, I'll be sure to keep you in mind. I don't think I'd be able to drive one anyways."
