I really had no clue she was interested in swords...

[she gets distracted, trying to find properly long blocks of wood and for a proper grain. She actually tries to find a piece of lumber some 6 feet long for herself. What IS she planning?]

Well, I can't say it'd be bad to know more people who can fight. But you sure you know what you're doing with that?

This is going to be trickier than I thought...

This was going to involve actually thinking it out further.]]

Also, that's a lot of wood to work with. We can just find a smaller piece rather than cut that down to size.

"Mou! Of course I know what I'm doing. And I need the piece this big because the Nietono no Shana is this big. I'm not going to make a smaller weapon just for the sake of convenience. I've always fought with something this long."

That actually sounds pretty cool. It'd be interesting to see you fighting with that.

If we make a few different varieties, we could probably invite some other kids to train with us, too. Like...a mini self-defense legion.

Oh, we must never tell the teacher of this classroom we are doing this, she is scary and kinda sadistic.

_{( Jason begins measuring out wood enough to make something about the length of his arm and a half, then pauses and turns back to the others. )}

You think there's anyone in Mayfield who could maybe actually forge swords?

That's too bad. But I guess it'd be hard to get that much metal, anyway, and even if we did find someone it's not like we really have a forge...
