10th Joke - Now For Some Light Humor

[[So much to do and so little time!

Also, new people all around. First, a call to the town.]]

"I hear there are a lot of new people coming in again. My name is Aaron. If you are new, lost and or confused just give me a call. I have some information for you and I just want you to know there are people here who can help."



[[As for the next couple of days, Aaron is so very busy. You can catch him doing one of the following:]]

A) [Action | School]

[[Aaron is distracted in all his classes. He has a little note pad he keeps scribbling in. He is not used to having so much to take care of.

He might miss the first time a teacher calls on him. Any other students can see he probably isn't on the right page in his book or hasn't finished the in class assignment yet.]]


B) [Action | buildstherobots]

[[Aaron heads over to Dist's house to see how things are going.

Knock, knock!]]


C) [Action | The Bowling Alley]

[[Aaron is working. He's the guy resetting your pins or sometimes fixing the ball return.

Sometimes, though, he gets distracted. Easy enough to sneak up on or surprise by accident.]]


D) [Action | Shopping!]

[[Aaron is visiting the shops, stocking up on candies and Valentine's Day cards.

No big or special gifts, it seems like he is just buying for all the people he is friends with.]]


E) [Action | School, after hours]

[[When the sun sets, Aaron sneaks back into school. He is heading into shop class, awkwardly carrying large pieces of wood under his arms.

What could he be up to?]]

I'd offer to help but some of these teachers don't teach anything like back home.

It's mostly math . . . I don't know what they're saying at all, and it all looks like a bunch of squiggles.

Math gets tough later on. I'm okay at geometry and trig, but I can put some of it to use outside of school.

Most math seems pretty abstract and useless though.

I'm pretty happy just knowing how to add and multiply. But no one seems very impressed by that.

[Pause. Lucas has to think about this for a few seconds. Then . . . ]

You know . . . I never thought about it like that. Maybe you're right.

[Lucas looks quite pleased about this possibility.]

I mean, I do have to use my mental . . . um. Powers to do the things I do. Math would just take up space, right?

I'd think so. I know studying in school gives me a headache and I don't even have to use psychic powers.

No problem. All you have to do in class is learn to fake it, it's not all that important.

I try to do it myself, but it's easier to understand sometimes when you already know the answer.

Yeah, usually. Either way, don't let it hassle you too much. You're cooler than this school and everything in it.

Just get by and try to find a way to enjoy yourself here.
