"Hello? Does anyone know anything about vampires being in town? Or anyone else who bites your neck and drinks your blood? Is that normal?"

Please do. Rest and eat well and you should be okay in no time.

If anything worse happens, you can have it checked at the hospital. Failing that, or if you've got further concerns about vampires, there is also the Church, but please visit it in the afternoon. The nun there may be able to help you, too.

[A small pause.] To answer honestly? This isn't a place where it's okay to speak in absolutes. The Church can definitely help you when it comes to vampires, but there are other things that are dangerous in this town. If you cross the mayor, police Chief Grady, or the Smiths, for example, even reality-bending powers won't be able to help you stay alive. Your house should be safe as long as you don't give anyone else a reason to antagonize you, but beyond that, it may be a good idea to get to know more people and make friends. There is strength in numbers, and getting along with people with powers won't hurt. ...In the end, it is a bit like anywhere else. Does that make sense?

Hm, to put it in other worlds, people from all sorts of worlds are taken here, including supernatural beings even more powerful than vampires. Their abilities are all removed upon arrival, but it is gradually given back with time. While such powers can help you against other people here and be used for support purposes like magical healing, they are more often than not useless against the head figures of this town. Individuals like Grady can nullify powers, from what I've heard, and the Smiths seem omnipotent to a certain degree. They interfere with us once every few months, though sometimes, you can have the choice to stay out of it. More often than not, however, they are also the only means of getting information, which is why some would be willing to take the risk anyhow.

With time. Some say it's after a big event. While that's possible, It's not for sure. Objects and powers may come back to you from the mail, and everyone tends to receive them at about the same time. It was just that recently actually, a few weeks back. Did you arrive after, Aaron?

They are not. ...You can make another call asking about if anyone's ever gotten back something that they didn't want, though. I've never heard of a case as such, but someone else in town may have an answer for you.

[She chuckles faintly.] That's fine. It does remind me of something else, though. Would you be a high school student, by any chance?

"Yeah. School works the same way here as in the United States right?"

I do have to admit that I'm unsure, because I only flew to America a few times for business. It should be similar to how it would be in the 1950ies, though. The curriculum is limited, but you do have teachers who go out of their ways to be creative. You may want to be careful around the Geometry teacher, however, and I did hear that the Gym teachers were quite tough on their students. I teach French myself, so you may see me there too.

...I don't quite mean it like that, actually, but it's good that you're looking at this under a positive light! Like I've said, there are also a number of other helpful teachers, so you can talk to us too if anything comes up.
